MEDINA STATION

A connection was established between Medina and Istanbul with the Hejaz Railway, the construction of which began in 1900 and reached Medina in 1908. After the withdrawal of the Ottoman Empire from the region at the end of the First World War, the Hejaz Railway became inactive.

The station building in Medina, the last stop of the Hejaz Railway, which is being revived today, and the Ottoman-style mosque next to it are still standing.
